Prescott Hill Cavalcade

by Simon Davis - Nostalgia Cars UK Ltd

A Great Day at the 13th Prescott Hill Cavalcade, 10th June 2007. For those that don’t know, this event is organized by the International Jaguar E Type Register of the Jaguar Drivers Club. It is open to replicas, as are many of the Jaguar Drivers Club events. Prescott hill is located 15mins from Junction 9 of the M5 North of Cheltenham, it is the home to the Bugatti owners club, they look after all the marshalling on the hill, the runs up the hill are not competitive & are not timed but still have a massive grin factor.

A fantastic venue with great facilities, a chance to enjoy driving the cars we love instead of sitting next to them in a field falling asleep after a large picnic, a real treat.

There was a good mix of replicas in attendance, Roger Williams of Suffolk Sports Cars had an excellent turn out of Suffolk SS 100's all looking as stunning as ever, I spotted at least four C Type Replicas from various stables, We hope to have some Nostalgia C Types there next year. Also in attendance was a D Type replica a Beautiful Red Challenger E Type & last but by no means least two Nostalgia XK'S one 120 belonging to Tim Barnes & a 140 brought by Nostalgia,
Suffolk SS100's all in a row

Their was plenty to see, rows of beautifully pampered E Types, MK1, 2's & S Types, all proud owners were friendly & pleased to have a chat about our common interest "Jaguars". The event was extremely well supported partly due to the weather I'm sure, but primarily down to the reputation this event has gained over the years, and excellent organization, by the JDC & the Bugatti Owners Club, who looked after us all so well on the hill.

At 1:00 p.m.the hill was closed for lunch enabling everyone that had awoken too late to make up a picnic , myself included, to make use of the excellent catering facilities, from a burger to a proper seated lunch & a licensed bar, what more could you ask for. After lunch Chris & I plus many others took great pleasure blasting our way up the hill; it's great to play at being racing drivers occasionally & really added to the enjoyment of the day.
